Windsor Wild wins second game against East Angus

The Desjardins – Wild de Windsor picked up four important points in the standings this weekend, with a second win in 24 hours over the East Angus Lumberjacks on Saturday night.

After a 15-3 win on Friday night, the Windsor team won Saturday’s game 7-1 in East Angus.

Another big team win for Sébastien Letarte’s protégés, who took a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals from William Roy and Isaak Châteauneuf.

Samuel Grégoire  and Jordan Chabot  added to the Windsor lead in the middle period.

Piaget Ntakarutimana, William Roy and Alex Therrien completed the scoring in the third period.

Nicolas Delage denied goalkeeper Alex Leclerc a shutout. Leclerc received 27 shots in the game, compared with 46 for Miguel Savoie.

Samuel Grégoire and Piaget Ntakarutimana finished the game with a goal and three assists.

With the weekend’s victories, the Desjardins-Wild climbed to second place in the Regional Hockey League standings, with a record of four wins and eight points from five games.

The Saint-Cyrille team leads the standings with nine points.

Desjardins – Wild will be on the road this weekend, taking on the Nordik Blades in Val-des- Sources this Friday at 8:30 p.m.
