A messy mix of strong winds, snow, and rain left thousands without power across the Eastern Townships on Tuesday.
Uprooted trees and downed branches were at the heart of outages that left residents of large parts of Cookshire, Ayers Cliff, Lennoxville, Bromont, Cowansville, and a number of other communities in the dark for large parts of the day.
Hydro-Quebec was reporting over 7,000 customers without power across the region on Tuesday afternoon, up from 5,000 earlier in the day. Hydro Sherbrooke, similarly, reported more than 200 customers without power across various sectors of the city throughout the day.
