Woman accused in animal cruelty case faces theft charges

A young Ayer’s Cliff resident was arrested Thursday for theft and fraud, after being accused of stealing more than $30,000 from her Magog convenience store employer. Bianka Lizotte, 20, allegedly stole cash from the register, snacks and beer, and winning lottery tickets. The offences are alleged to have occurred between April and December 2017. Lizotte, who worked as a cashier, would apparently ring in purchases by customers but then register them as ‘returned’ after the customer had left, pocketing the cash. It was only after several months that the store owner noticed the losses, fired Lizotte, and notified the Memphremagog Police. See full story in the Monday, April 30th edition of The Record.
