Stanstead College announced the start of construction for a new junior girls residence and wellness centre on Wednesday. The cost of the project is estimated at $7.5 million.
A ground-breaking ceremony took place at the site of the new construction on Saturday, Sept. 24, with Stanstead College board chair Jonathan Cowen on hand along with Head of School Michael Wolfe, Associate Head of School Joanne Carruthers and Property Committee chair Martin Béasse.
According to a press release issued by the school alongside the announcement, the project will be financed through donations from alumni and friends of the school as well as school’s investments. With a contract for construction awarded to Conceptions Desrosiers of Magog, the new facilities are scheduled to be ready for students by September 2023.
