Youth protection services demand better  working conditions

Youth protection services in Quebec are suffering through a severe labour shortage and it’s leading to burnout, caused by an overload of work, and higher levels of emotional distress among personnel.
The Alliance du personnel professionnel et technique de la santé et des services sociaux (APTS) held a demonstration outside of the Centre jeunesse de l’Estrie in Shebrooke Wednesday. They want the provincial government to step up and recognize the value of these services.
Danny Roulx, APTS National representative for the Eastern Townships, delivered a clear message during the demonstration, calling out Quebec Premier François Legault and Chair of the Conseil du trésor Sonia LeBel for presenting a weak collective agreement proposal.
