Government puts its support behind newspaper cooperative project

The effort to relaunch the six regional newspapers of the Groupe Capitales Médias, including local papers La Tribune and La Voix de l’Est, as workers’ cooperatives took another step forward on Tuesday. According to reports in several French media, Quebec’s Minister of Economy and Innovation Pierre Fitzgibbon indicated around midday that the Provincial Government would put its support behind the model.
