According to Gregory Kelley, political advisor to the Secretariat for Relations with English-speaking Quebecers and designated liaison for the English community, the work of the fledgling office and its new minister is ongoing, even if the average English Quebecer isn’t necessarily seeing it. “We’re definitely ramping things up,” Kelley said, explaining that Kathleen Weil is continuing to tour the province in her capacity as Minister responsible for Relations with English-Speaking Quebecers while the secretariat gets on its feet under the leadership of Deputy Minister William Floch. The immediate goal, according to the political advisor, is to use the input from a planned three stage consultation process is to build an action plan that will guide the future work of the secretariat.
