My Take: By Matthew McCully

My Take: By Matthew McCully

I’ve moved around quite a bit over the years, but there are two big jumps in my life that really stick out.
When I was 11, my parents packed up the family and moved from New Richmond, on the Gaspé, to Cowansville.
I was livid. I had no desire to move and was terrified about going to a new school and having no friends.
My second big move was when I decided to head to B.C. after university.
I flew to Vancouver with a backpack and a guitar and zero plan.
Both times I was a hot mess and had no idea what to expect, but it all worked out.
Here are two important things to remember about moving.
1) Regardless of where you end up, it doesn’t take much to make a place a home.
2) You bring the same person everywhere you go.
