There were 1,021 people in hospital across Quebec on Friday with COVID-19, 416 of whom were admitted because of the virus. That marked a decrease of 13 patients from the last update featured in The Record. Friday’s numbers also showed 45 people in intensive care, down five from the previous report.
In the Eastern Townships the number of people in hospital with the virus on Friday was 62, only two of whom were in intensive care.
The total number of deaths linked to the COVID-19 virus in the province increased by 13 on Friday, to 14,235. In the Eastern Townships, the total increased to 547 deaths since the start of the pandemic, one more than on Thursday.
Due to the fact that the regional and provincial public health departments no longer provide public updates on weekends, data for Saturday and Sunday will only be available in time for Tuesday’s report in The Record.
