My Take: By Michael Boriero

Brace yourselves, folks, fair season is coming to the Eastern Townships, and that means thousands of Quebecers flooding the region for some fun, family-friendly activities.
Growing up in Montreal, I was never exposed to the province’s summer fair offerings. It wasn’t exactly on my parents’ radar. My time was mostly spent going to soccer tournaments.
But as I go deeper into my third year with The Record, and explore more about what these fairs mean to Townshippers, I wish I had a chance to explore these events when I was younger.
In hindsight, not only would it have been great to experience the buzz of a local fair — games, food, crowds, and music — but I also would have learned about the importance of agriculture.
I hardly ever thought about where my food comes from, but obviously this should be common practice in every household.
