Candidate lists now finalized

The time period for people interested in getting their name on the ballot for this fall’s election officially came to a close on Saturday afternoon, meaning that unless people drop out of the race, the complete list of names up for election in each riding is now known. According to Elections Quebec there are a total 880 candidates whose applications have been accepted across the 125 ridings of the province, an average of seven each. Of that total, 624 candidates are from one of the five parties represented in the National Assembly prior to its dissolution, with the Coalition avenir Québec, Quebec solidaire, Parti Quebecois, and Quebec Conservative Party all presenting a full slate of 125 candidates, and the Quebec Liberal Party having 124.
