Representatives of the City of Sherbrooke and the town of Saint-Denis-de-Brompton toured Sherbrooke’s fire station number two on Thursday afternoon in recognition of a new agreement between the two communities. As of Jan. 1, Sherbrooke is now providing fire coverage to the town based out of this northernmost station on a regular basis.
“This is a good demonstration of what to municipalities can accomplish when we work together,” said Sherbrooke Mayor Évelyne Beaudin. “We sometimes underestimate the amount of work needed to arrive at an agreement like this one, where all factors have been considered and everyone is happy.”
