By Emilie Hackett, Special to the Record – For the 2018-2019 academic year, the students in charge of the annual Bishop’s University Charity Fashion Show have chosen to raise funds for Mental Health Estrie (MHE). MHE is an organization that offers support to English-speaking members of the community affected by mental illness. In previous years, the Fashion Show has managed to raise up to $20,000 for every chosen organization through a series of fundraising activities and the Fashion Show itself.
Tanya Gibson, executive director of MHE, shared her gratitude for having been selected and for the work of all the volunteers who have been involved in the fundraising event so far. She added that supporting the organization meant “empowering both caregivers and individuals who are affected by mental illness in your very own community to regain control of their lives.” See full story in the Monday, Feb. 4 edition of The Record.
