It is not too late to become a volunteer bike patroller.
Earlier this month, The Record reported that as we move away from winter, the city of Sherbrooke has begun to seek volunteers to be a member of their cycling patrol. Although the weather has become friendlier to casual cyclists since that announcement, head patroller Sylvain Roy says that there are still some spots available on the team.
“We are still looking for more volunteers to round out our patrol group,” Roy said, reiterating the fact that the volunteers are responsible for the vélo route des Grandes Fourches, the extensive cycling trail network that covers Sherbrooke and the surrounding areas. They perform first aid, and help beginners and tourists navigate the trails.
