Hospital numbers reach lowest point since start of 2022

The number of people in hospital with COVID-19 across Quebec decreased by 30 on Wednesday, dropping the total number of hospitalizations in the province to 1,222, which is the lowest the number has been since the start of 2022. The number of people in intensive care also decreased by eight compared to Tuesday, for a total of 69.

The number of people in hospital with the virus in the Eastern Townships increased very slightly, to 76, while the total number of people in local intensive care wards remained stable at three.

Quebec recorded another six new deaths linked to Covid, for a total of 14,126 since the start of the pandemic. The number of deaths related to the virus in the Eastern Townships remained unchanged at 540.

The province also reported just under 5,000 vaccine doses administered on Tuesday, the majority of which were third doses. As of Wednesday’s data, 91 per cent of Quebecers have received a first dose of a vaccine against COVID-19, 87 per cent for a second, and 52 per cent for a third.
