Intensive care numbers rise then fall over long weekend

The Province of Quebec provided no formal updates on the Covid-19 situation in the province over the long weekend, but according to information provided on the government’s open data portal, the number of people in hospital with Covid-19 increased by 66 overall from Thursday to Monday, for a total of 2,220. The number of people in intensive care with the virus, meanwhile decreased by one since the last report, to 95, after having climbed up to 105 on Saturday.

The overall number of deaths attributed to Covid since the start of the pandemic increased to 14,685, a rise of 67 from the last number reported in The Record.

Hospitalization numbers for the Eastern Townships were not readily available on Monday, but the total number of deaths related to Covid increased by one to 563.

A return to regular public updates is expected Tuesday.
