Quebec invests in gender equality initiative throughout the regions

The Quebec government announced an investment of $200,000 as part of a new sectoral development agreement on equality between women and men.

The two-year agreement, in partnership between the Secrétariat à la condition féminine, the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l’Habitation and ConcertAction Femmes Estrie, will allow the Eastern Townships to implement projects and reach its equality targets in the region.

Lévis, Brome-Missisquoi, Coaticook, Granit, Haut-Saint-François, Haute-Yamaska, Memphrémagog, Sources and Val-Saint-François will be participating in the funding and implementation of these projects. The region will have a total envelope of $300,000.

Transport Minister François Bonnardel, Education Minister Isabelle Charest, and Municipal Affairs and Housing Andrée Laforest made the announcement on Monday. The total government investment is nearly $1.2 million across six other regions in Quebec.
