By Emilie Hackett, Special to the Record – In honour of Earth Day 2019, Action Saint-François organized a clean-up operation in downtown Sherbrooke on Monday, April 22. Over 150 attendees, including Sherbrooke councillor Karine Godbout, MP Pierre-Luc Dussault, and MNAs Geneviève Hébert and Christine Labrie, helped clean up the St. Francis River’s banks near King Street and adjoining streets. In partnership with the Conseil régional de l’environnement de l’Estrie, Estrie Aide, FEVE (Festival et évènements verts de l’Estrie), Le Tremplin, the Université de Sherbrooke and the Cégep de Sherbrooke, there were a multitude of activities scheduled throughout the area on Monday.
