By Matthew McCully – Roughly 50 hockey enthusiasts strapped on their skates on Sunday afternoon to participate in a recreational hockey fundraiser at the Jane and Eric Molson Arena on the Bishop’s University campus. The event was organized by local Eric Mackeage to raise money for the research department at the Maisonneuve Rosemont Hospital.
Two of the players participating in the friendly tournament received transplants from the hospital. Mackeage, who was a spectator this year, is currently in treatment with the Cell Therapy Centre of Excellence at the Montreal facility. See full story in the Monday, Feb. 18 edition of The Record.
