Vehicle thefts not slowing down in Sherbrooke

By Michael Boriero

There have been 64 vehicle thefts in Sherbrooke so far this year, nearly surpassing last year’s total of 77, the Sherbrooke Police Service (SPS) revealed in a press release on Thursday.
According to the SPS, the thefts are mostly happening in high density residential neighbourhoods in the city. They have identified Rock Forest and Fleurimont as the most susceptible areas to vehicle theft. The SPS wants residents to follow basic safety tips.
Residents have been asked to park their vehicles in well-lit areas, ensure their doors are securely locked, and to start using steering wheel locks, alarm or tracking systems. The installation of external cameras and a plug protector is also highly recommended.
