Régie du bâtiment du Québec investigates suspicious fire in Val-des-Sources

Val-des-Sources Fire Safety Department Director Alain Chainé is still trying to get a sense of what happened on Friday, after two homes were completely burned down following a propane tank explosion in a residents’ garage.
Chainé told The Record that the department received a call notifying them about the fire around 4:30 p.m. In total, there were 22 local firefighters at the scene, however, the fire safety director also contacted a nearby team of five firefighters from Danville for crucial support.
The fire raged for several hours. According to Chainé, it was all said and done by roughly 10 p.m., and at that point, the house linked to the explosion, as well as the next door neighbour, suffered a complete loss. He said that two other houses suffered minor exterior damage.
