Sherbrooke Police on the lookout following suspicious fires

The Sherbrooke Police (SPS) have taken over responsibility for an investigation into three suspicious fires on Monday night that police spokesperson Martin Carrier says may be linked. All three of the fires took place in the neighbourhood between Jacques-Cartier Boulevard and the Marquis de Montcalm Park between 11 p.m. on Monday and 4 a.m. on Tuesday. The first of the calls came in for a garbage can fire in front of the Sherbrooke Toyota dealership on King Street and it was followed not long afterward by a similar fire near the Centre Dentaire Portland just a few blocks away. It wasn’t until slightly later on that smoke was seen issuing from the house at 1824 Portland, across the street from the dentist office.
